La Punta

Manzanillo
Often referred to as Mexico’s best kept secret, Manzanillo is located on the Pacific coast of Mexico between Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco. It is at the same latitude as Hawaii and has an average of 350 days of sunshine per year.

Manzanillo’s Playa de Oro International airport (ZLO) is just  a 30 minute ride from Villa Casablanca. There are 3 flights a day from Mexico City and regularly scheduled flights from Houston (United Airlines) and L.A.(Alaskan Airways). During high season there are numerous direct charter flights from points in Canada and the US.

Manzanillo is the Sailfish Capital of the World and the city has hosted important national and international fishing competitions, such as the Dorsey Tournament, since 1957.

There is natural beauty unique to Manzanillo. Twin bays are separated by a huge mass of rugged rocks and lush greenery which is where the villa is located. The Sierra Madre mountains create a beautiful backdrop to the beaches of stunning ebony and gold volcanic sand and the bays of Santiago and Manzanillo.

The historic downtown of Manzanillo has been refurbished adding to the appeal of this already charming seaside town. Buildings throughout the city center have been renovated and painted white, and several pedestrian-only streets make it a pleasant area to explore on foot. A giant turquoise sculpture of a Marlin is situated on the edge of the historic center overlooking the ocean. After dark, dancing fountains entertain the crowds that gather in the historic center.

You can stroll along the beautiful waterfront promenade in Manzanillo, past small fishing boats and sculptures by local artists. Manzanillo’s waterfront promenade extends for one mile along the coast and is a great place to people watch while taking in the natural beauty.
